1) Discipline Problems
I am in desperate need of advice for children that have been removed from
class for continual disruptive behavior. We have gone the route of
removing the child from class, talking with the parents, counseling and
even having the child suspended from the next class. The parent has even
removed the child and sat in another room during the whole service and
nothing seems to work. I'm finding now that when this child begins
disrupting that it's spreading from one child to the next and takes the
rest of the class to get things back in order. What can we do that will
maintain a teachable atmosphere and at the same time we need to make sure
that this troubled child can be sucessful?

2) Teacher Appreciation
For VBS appreciation a few years ago I copied inspirational stories and
poems into a note book. Hope this helps.

3) Morning Prayer
How about the song "This is the day that the Lord has
made". Psalms 5:3 is a good scripture regarding morning prayer.

5) Help for Windish Church
In reply to Sherry's question: You may be able to attract some parents to
come and check out your church by having "Windish workshops" on a
weeknight they can bring their children to. I found your explanation
interesting, I'm sure others will be interested too. From the pool of
families that come for the workshop, you may find those interested in
coming to church.
Workshops should include crafts, language, and stories that come from
Windish culture. We live in a society of cultural pluralism--take
advantage of it! (You can also take advantage of your older Windish
members--I'm sure they would love to pass on what they know.)

6) Fathers Day craft?
Hello, As director of a Children's Bible Club ( 4yr. & up) I am in need
of a 'keepable' childrens craft. One that is meaningful for them to give
to dear ole Dad. We had a lovely one for Mothers. Would like to come up
with something just as nice for Dad.

7) Theme for Children's celebration?
I am the Children's ministry co-coordinator at our church , and every year
we hold a "Children's celebration weekend". We do something different
every year. Last year we presented a musical of Noah's Ark. ( all our
littlies dressed as animals and our older kids doing the drama side)
This year we are planning a Barn dance theme, hay bales, line dancing etc.
I am stuck for a catchy theme for the weekend. We have a service on the
Sunday which all the parents are invited to and like to keep a theme for
the weekend. Help please with any ideas for a theme or other things we
could use to make this weekend a success.

8) Christian La Bamba lyrics
Group called Apologetix does all Christian parody songs. They have several
CD's out and do live concerts all over. They are really good.
The LaBamba song is on their CD called "Spoofernatural"
The call it "La Bible" the words are all the books in the Bible in order,
what a neat way for the kids to learn the books of the Bible. I don't know
if I am allowed to copy the lyrics for you, but I have them from the CD
cover.

My teenagers love them and we have all their CD's. They sing all types
of music for every generation...some I really don't like but they are all
biblically based and geared toward bringing Jesus and salvation to all who
hear. Hope this helps.

10) Water Games
Checking old emails, I saw the request for water games. Have you seen the
one where you fill a baby pool with water and then add ice cubes. Sit as
many children around the pool as space will allow and tell them the object
of the game is catch the "ice" (the fish) with their toes. Kids love it!

11) Children's Church, Sunday School and discipline

I have a feeling that you are responding to my answer about the validity
of having a children's church while the adults are in worship. If you
re-read my answer I did not say that children's church and Sunday school
were a place to dump kids off so that the parents can enjoy church. What
I said is that I believe that the entire family needs to be in worship at
the same time and that if worship only reaches adults then parts of it
should be changed so that children find God in worship as well their
parents. What I said is that I have trouble with parents who want
children's church so that they can be without their children during
church. I feel that part of a parents' responsibility as Christians is to
model to their children how to worship. Children learn by worshipping God
not by being told this is how we worship. I learned to love worship by
being there every week with my parents not by what anyone "taught" me. We
are so segregated in this society by race and by ageism. Children learn
from adults and adults learn from children and when we exclude children
from worship we miss that avenue and opportunity of learning and
interaction.
I feel that Christain formation is important for all Christians regardless
of their age. Adults need Sunday School too and when Sunday School is
during church, when do the adults get to study the word of God? One
twenty minute sermon is not enough for adults to understand God's plan for
us or to form us as Christians. God deserves more that an hour and a half
a week. I believe that everyone should participate in both Sunday School
and church every Sunday. Although having Sunday School and then
children's church is not my ideal I will say that I prefer it to having
children go to Sunday school during worship. MAU

12) Recruiting children

Ephesians 4:11 says: "It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be
prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers."
God has given us all different gifts, and those who have the gift of
teaching may not have the gift of evangelism. I, for one, feel very
comfortable in a classroom, but would not feel comfortable going out and
recruiting children. Maybe you could find a person or group of people
more gifted in that area whose main task is getting more children to come
to church, rather than trying to get the teachers to do it.
