Tree Lighting Invitation from Sarah Keith

If you live in the vicinity of West Palm Beach, FL, come join me at Lake Park's Tree Lighting ceremony, tonight, Dec. 3, 2010. I will be teaching how to cut my Chrismon Snowflake Ornaments, having a raffle for a set of 3-Crystalline ornaments, and selling my books at a significant discount. Festivities begin at 6:30 PM in downtown Lake Park--in the new Arts District--on the corner of Park Ave. and 9th St. (See map)

Pray for me and those who attend, that I will have opportunities to shine for Jesus!

I hope to see you there! Please come and introduce yourself to me!

Advent Devotion?

Dear All,

I am a new member of SSTN from Bangladesh and am proud of it. Hope to get your suggestions and help for my ministry.

I am preparing for Advent and Christmas.

Can anyone help me by sharing a children's sermon with some activities on Christmas!!

Secondly, I like to share that this year our children are preparing gift boxes which we like to send in our rural areas where many
children will not be able to have any gift for Christmas from their parents and relatives as they are very poor. Hope those boxes will
bring a smile on their faces. Please pray for the children in Bangladesh.

Thank you for your kind cooperation-
Shourabh.

--from SSTN: welcome to SSTN, Shourabh!  Make sure you also check out the sermons and activities in the website. If you scroll up to the top of the newsletter, in the bright, green box you'll find links to sermons, crafts, games, etc.

3) Using Resources in Web Site?

Hi SSTN staff,
Greetings in our Lord Jesus Christ's name.

I am from the Philippines and we are writing curriculum materials for our Church Sunday School. In this regard, I would like to ask permission from you if I can paraphrase or adopt some ideas from your materials? Thank you for your favorable action to this inquiry/request. God bless

Aida

--from SSTN: Hi Aida,

You may use our materials, as long as they're used only within your church ministry. However, everything is copyrighted and cannot be sold or distributed beyond your church or ministry.

4) Discerning Who is a Needy Child

Regarding Varghese's question of discerning the truly needy child, I must say that if a child is "faking it" they are in real need of emotional and spiritual support. The child has learned this behavior from someone or a group of people and although may not need as much financial support as some others, does indeed need emotional and spiritual support.

If you are looking for the financially needy child I would suggest going to your local homeless shelter or contacting your state agency entrusted to protect children and their welfare. I hope this is helpful. Kathy
