1) Halloween Message

Adapt this to fit your group..... expand as time allows Have fun with it.....I used a real pumpkin, prepared ahead
of time. The "face pieces were put back into place." The insides, seeds in a sealed baggie to avoid mess.

From one pumpkin to another...

Ask: What is this? In what ways can it be used?

If anyone wants to know, 'What is it like to be a Christian?' Here's what you can tell them:
'It is like being a pumpkin. 'God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.

Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
(lift off the "lid" and take out the baggie)

He removes what we don't need: seeds of doubt, hate, and greed.

Then He carves you a new smiling face. Eyes, Nose, mouth.....(poke out the pre-carved "face pieces.")

God also puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.'
(I had a battery-light inside, when I turned on the switch, I held up the "jack-o-lantern" for all to see.)

(The congregation actually applauded)! Kids went to S S

During fellowship coffee time, I gave the pumpkin to a boy trying to sit thru the congregational meeting....He enjoyed "playing" with it!

Sincerely, Merry
San Marcos United Methodist

That Was Easy! -- Devotional

Submitted by Tanya Roberts

Theme: Grace and Peace
Object: Easy button from Staples Office Supply
Scripture: Matthew 11:30

I am sure you have seen the Staples commercials on TV. "That was Easy!" is their way of getting people to buy office supplies from them. Today, I brought one of their easy buttons just for fun. If I need paper for my copier, or ink for my printer, all I have to do is push this easy button and it will appear, right? (Push button.)

Ok, we can't trust the TV commercials, but I want to tell you about God's easy plan... get the rest of That Was Easy!, go to the Anytime Bible Lessons page at:

3) What's the BIG Idea? Sharing Your Faith

Have you wanted to share your faith, but you don't know what to say or how to say it?

Sharing one’s faith can be scary, but it doesn't have to learn more, follow this link:

4) Growing a Church in Christ?

I want to know about how a church is grown and also how a group can be grown in Christ.

5) Scarecrow Tract - Lesson & Craft

Make this adorable scarecrow tract during your Fall Festival or to hand out to children in your neighborhood on Halloween night.
