1) Action Song: Butterfly Song

How about the song, "If I Were a Butterfly" (I'd thank the Lord for giving me wings...and if I were a tall giraffe....I'd thank the Lord for my long neck...) Each child could dress the part and sing each part...there's a lot more to the song and the kids could sing the chorus together..."For he gave me a heart and he gave me a smile, He gave me Jesus and he made me his child, and I just thank you Father for making me Me." Not sure if the words are correct here but it should give you enough to find the song....Dianne, AL

=========================

My students ages 3-10 enjoy the songs from Brian Howard. His "Butterfly Song" is a great one to act out. "If I were a butterfly, I'd thank You, Lord, for giving me wings..." There are many animals mentioned & the tune is up beat & catchy...Enjoy it with your kids!

2) Skit: Who Is Going To Help?

"
In spite of the weight of the world's problems such as earthquakes, oil spills, and the economic downturn, this skit teaches us that with God's help, one child can change the world." To download this skit, you'll find it in our Anytime Christian Skits section at:

4) Action Songs

Action Songs with dress up for little kids

Jesus wants Me for a Sun (Son/Jesus) Beam
Cut out bright yellow/orange circles with points around them for the sun
and cut hole in center for child's face to peek through. Child smiles (Elastic string to keep on)
Cut out big grey/black puffy "clouds" with hole in center also. Child scowls.
Then go into the chorus - So Let the Sun Shine In, Face it with a Grin, Smilers Never Lose and Frowners Never Win, So let the Sun Shine In, Face it with a Grin, Open Up Your Heart, and Let the SON Shine In! -- During this part, you have the SUN kids face the Storm Clouds and sing to them. Sing it once and then again and have the Storm Clouds flip their black cloud over to a bright white side! Very cute. Not a lot of work.

You may not know this one I'm afraid:

I've got a brand new sign
with bright red letters
hanging on the door of my heart-
the Lord moved in
I've never felt better
My life has changed, I've made a new start-
So I let the Devil know
he isn't welcome anymore
when he comes calling on me-
Oh how mad he's gonna be
when he begins to read -"Filled Up--NO Vacancy"

repeat again the 2 lines- Oh how mad... in an exaggerated slow pace- and then fast and with gusto "Filled Up! No Vacancy!
Put a really big red heart on a string/yarn around their neck so it is hanging on their chest.
The big red letters cans say "Born Again" or "Saved"

At the end of the song they'll flip the heart over so "No Vacancy" shows in sparkling letters.
During the song, have another child slowly walking around them (sort of hunched over sinisterly) dressed in a black/red cape-big black mustache hanging down and thick angry black eyebrows. Have him looking the heart child up and down sizing them up-need exaggerated head movement not just eyes. When the end of the song gets there and they flip the heart to "No Vacancy" "the devil" acts surprised jumping back while throwing his arms up in the air and then makes fists and jumps up and down and shakes his head no like he's really, really mad. (just tell them to act like they are throwing a tantrum-ha)

6) The Gospel in a Nutshell

John 3:16 is the gospel in a nutshell--it's an overview of the entire Bible. This verse condenses all of God's plan from the beginning of time and throughout Scripture, into this tiny "nutshell" of a verse. The word gospel means, good news. Let's look at...
