1) Donkey puppet suggestion

This is in response to someone looking for donkey
puppet ideas. I found this idea and thought it might
help. You can use oven mitts to make puppets use yarn
for the mane and glue on eyes. I hope this helps.
God bless everyone,
Angel Nelson from Tenn.

3) Halloween costumes?

I am looking for ideas for Christian Halloween costumes. Any suggestions?
Diane

--from SSTN: For those churches doing Fall Festivals, many have requested
that the children dress in historical, Biblical, or silly costumes.
Nothing scary, or evil. To read previous arguments from SSTN regarding
Halloween celebrations, and the hot debate amongst Christians regarding
this holiday read more at:

LITTLE AT A TIME. MUSIC WORKS WELL ANYTHING THAT THEY ACT SILLY WITH BUT
LEARN AT THE SAME TIME. GOO LUCK AND GOD BLESS. APRIL

5) Curriculum for Junior / Senior high

Hi My name is Kim. I am currently teaching 7th grade. We are using
Connect Junior High, by Silver Burdett Ginn
I like it a lot and the kids enjoy it.

--from SSTN: if you tell me the ISBN (International Standard Book Number
on the back of the book), I'll try to carry it in the Bookstore at
ChristianCrafters.Com.

6) Pastor Appreciation Sunday

I need some ideas for Pastor Appreciation Sunday, we are having it on
October 28; mostly the teens are going to present a program on Sunday
night, any ideas or suggestions would be most helpful. Thank you.

Christmas Pageant

'Operation Baby King with CD-Rom, is unlike any other-"instant" because
there are no lines to be memorized-so, no hassles, no headaches...and only
a simple set to be assembled. For more info, go to:

7) Pastor appreciation verses?

I need help with some verses to go along with gifts that our Youth Group
plans to present to our Pastor. The first gift will be a pair of house
shoes and one of the children will recite Romans 10:15 (how beautiful are
the feet...) as another child will present him with the gift. (Our plan
is for him to wear each gift he is given). The next gift will be a bathrobe,
and then a nightcap and then a teddy bear (these last two are for effect
only). The idea is to having him looking as if he is ready for bed. The
last gift will be a gift certificate for a night's stay in one of our
State Park's lodges. I need verses to go along with the robe, the nightcap, the
teddybear (I thought about using a stuffed lamb instead and using a verse
about a shepherd), and one about rest. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks, Lily

8) Fall Festival

In response to your person looking for some more ideas for their churches
fall festival. Our church also holds one and sometimes we try to encourage
everyone one to dress up as their favorite Bible character. We also have a
bowling game (using children's plastic bowling set). We have a hole in one
game that one of our men made. One of our beloved members leads the
adults in a game some what like musical chairs only when the music stops the
person holding the item of clothing that they pass around has to put it
on. We use Halloween wigs, scarves swim suit tops plants shirts. Then
after all the items have been put on the group model there outfits for the
rest of the gang. It is a blast and everyone has a wonderful time I hope
that these Ideas may add pleasure to your festival.

9) Pastor? Teacher?

> the Pastors wife referred to me as a
> Pastor so I took the title instead of Childrens Church Teacher, I like
> Pastor Better. DO YOU FEEL THIS IS O.K.?

I would like to respond to James taking on the title as "Pastor". Your
definition says God gave some to be Pastors and some to be teachers.
If God didn't call James to be a "Pastor", then he shouldn't take that
title. The Bible says "How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the
gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things." Therefore, I
would feel unworthy to carry that title and also feel it would be rather
disrespectful to his pastor to take that title. I feel God looks upon his
teachers as special people also, but teacher and PASTOR are two different
things.

10) Donkey puppet, script

Wendy, I have managed to make my donkey puppet ( almost full sized head)
using a stuffed "Bullseye" toy ( horse in Toy Story) as a guide . So
thanks to everyone who gave me ideas. The story line is about the trip
Mary was making to Bethlehem riding on this donkey. It is a puppet script,
and I am only assisting in making this puppet. But I can probably get hold
of the script and e-mail it to you if you like to leave me your e-mail
address. My e-mail is: dawnsc@mac.com
Dawn

--from SSTN: if the skit is copyright free, or you can obtain copyright
release, I'd love to put it in the Christian Skits section of the site.

11) Bible Book Cards

I have placed an Adobe Acrobat file on the web for any interested
persons to download.  The file is free, and downloaded by going
to:

http://www.homiliesbyemail.com/scripture/book-cards.htm

The  page offers a link to download the file, which includes all the books
of the bible to be printed on 8 standard size papers.  The pages are then
cut into individual cards. The cards are divided into categories with
appropriate graphics: Pentateuch, Israelite History, Wisdom books, Major
Prophets, Minor Prophets, Gospels, Early Church History, Pauline Epistles,
Non-Pauline Epistles, and Revelations (in a class by itself!).  Each of
the cards, when cut out, has a picture coded to one of the groupings, plus
the name of the book.  The objective is for the student to practice
placing the cards in correct order.

I have found this a successful way for both adults and children develop
familiarity and to memorize the arrangement of the books of the Bible.  I
hold the copyright on the set, but grant permission for anyone to use or
distribute them freely for non-profit use, as long as the copyright notice
is included.   The file is in Adobe Acrobat format, and I have provided a
link for a free copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader for those who need it.
Enjoy!

12) Ways to encourage kids / Kids Can't Read

>Please send me any information on ways to encourage fourth
>and fifth graders to memorize scriptures besides candy.

Betty, when we taught seventh grade (for 2 anxiety-ridden years!) one of
the few things our kids responded to was Prayer Cards, which we got from
our local Christian store, about .15-.20 cents each. We teach 1st grade
now and still use them. Even though we usually have to read them to the
kids, they still love to get them. Good luck!
