Experiencing the Passion of Jesus

Who really killed Jesus?
What crime did Jesus commit?
Did it really happen like that?
Why did Jesus suffer and die?
What did the Resurrection accomplish?
How is this story relevant to me?

A study and discussion guide for the movie The Passion of the Christ
presents these questions with detailed lesson plans and leader's guide.
Designed primarily for use in seeker small groups, but is also applicable
for use in believer small groups. For older teens and adults.

Find it in our Bookstore by typing, "Experiencing the Passion of Jesus",
into the search box:

2) Sinless Living

>>This is in reply to the comments:  "I am glad you can live
>>a holy and sinless life, I would love to meet you! No other
>>Christian I know of including myself claims to be without
>>sin, I am a poor miserable sinner who relies on the saving
>>blood of Jesus everyday."

>I must say this...I claim to be without sin since I became a Christian
and
>here's how and why...

And this is in reply to that...1 John 1:8-10

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not
in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our
sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have
not
sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

In Him, Kristine

3) Paul in basket / Mary and Martha?

Looking for a craft to go with the story of "Paul in the basket" for 3
year olds and a craft to go with the story of "Mary and Martha" for 2 year
olds.  Messy crafts are not a problem -- actually the children prefer and
I do not have an issue with them.  Also, should not be over simplified as
they are used to doing serious crafting.

4) Inexpensive puppets

...You can also make some really neat looking puppets from insulation
board.  We've even made puppets from dusters - the kind you dust furniture
with.  If anyone is interested in seeing these puppets you can email me at
kimjenkins@moriahkids.com
(and put Puppets in the subject otherwise I don't read unfamiliar emails
due to viruses) or go to www.moriahkids.com and I have put pictures of
some of the puppets we've made on that site.
You can purchase puppets at "From the Heart" that can be changed from a
boy to a girl by adding pigtails or changing a wig. That's a good way to
get variety without buying a lot of puppets.  Also, change the costumes,
we had a lady in our church make a costume that when we added some
sunglasses the puppet now looks like Elvis.
He's very popular.  Also, I am always looking for new ideas, so if anyone
is interested in exchanging ideas they've used in their puppet ministry
please let me know.

5) Ten Commandments - 6 year olds?

Hello all! I am trying to introduce the 10 Commandments to a group of 6
year olds. Does anyone have any ideas how to explain it simply and some
crafts? We are thinking about spending 6 weeks on it. Any suggestions
would be much appreciated.

6) Seventeen Year old / Sinless living

I am rather concerned about some of the advice the 17 year old teacher is
getting. I began teaching very early, too, and have taught for nearly 50
years and I have learned a few things.  Why are you teahing?  It is the
Lord who gives us the desire and ability to teach.  Do you love the kids?
I have learned that if you pray for them and yourself, that you will teach
in a way that pleases the Lord, they will respond.  In the March 10th SSTN
there is advice that sounds like a drill sergeant to me.  If you go into a
class with the idea that you are the boss and the kids are going to do
exactly like you day, don't expect them  to do it.  I have seldom had a
discipline problem in all the years I have taught, not becaue I am a great
teacher, but I have a great Lord whom I depend upon.  Love those kids!
Ask the Lord to make you a great teacher.  Do you take advantage of all
the wonderful resources in ChristianCrafters to make the lessons
interesting?  But don't expect the kids to be perfect.  They are not and
neither are we.

Now to the holy, sinless among us, may I quote 1 John 1:8--if we say we
have no sin we make God a liar.  Our standing with Him is that He sees us
holy through the blood of Christ but He knew although we want to keep from
sinning that we would sin so He gave us the next verse--1 John 1:9.  If
you have a concordance and look up the root meaning of holy, blameless,
etc, you will see it means something different than you suggest.  In 1
John, too, we see Jesus as our Advocate.  His office of Advocate would be
useless if we didn't need his aid.

7) Palm Sunday Parade Music

On Palm Sunday, the children from our Sunday School classes are going to
parade through the church singing "Hosanna" from Jesus Christ Superstar.
Two men from our church choir have agreed to sing the solo parts of
Caiaphus and Jesus.  The adult choir is going to stand in the back of the
church and sing along with the children.

8) Armor of God?

I will be doing vacation bible school with the Armour of God theme. Do you
have any suggestions for crafts and costumes as I would like for the kids
to put on a piece of armour daily?

Thanks, Rosie

9) Telugu language

This is in response to the teacher requesting resources in the Telugu
language. I believe this language is spoken in Andrah Pradesh, India. If
this teacher is located in India, the Bible Society in India should be
able to help. In 2003 funds were raised (I think worldwide, but at least
in
Australia) to supply scriptures and reading resources throughuot India,
and if they are contacted I'm surethey could help.

Yours in Christ,
Pat Pollard
