1) Friend - Poem

I was writing a note of encouragement to a friend (her mother is dying) when God sent me a poem. It comforted me as God sent it at midnight; literally this was typed straight as God spoke and it was there within 2 minutes!

Side by side
God sent a friend
To walk with you
Through thick and thin
To stand with you
When you feel frail
To kneel with you
When all else has failed
Not in a body
Not warm or cold
But ONE inside you
That becomes your Soul.
As we cry to others
And they share our pain
The ONE hears all
And the glory's gained
For it is ONE
That hears each prayer
The ONE never leaves
And ministers care.
Never alone
ONE friend is near
Wiping away
Each heart-felt tear.

2) Children's Sermon: What's In That Box?

Prop: an empty box

There is something in this box that will show us what had to happen to Jesus for HIM to be able to become our Savior.
What do you think is in the box?

Is it a manger where HE was born?  He had to come as a little baby
Is it a crown of thorns? He had to Suffer for us.
Is it the nails that held JESUS to the Cross in the crucifixion?
Is it a small cross that represents where Jesus was nailed to die for our sins?
Could it be blood? Jesus had to shed blood for us.

Philippians 2:7 tells us the answer...

4) Stealing Cookies!

The following is part of a Bible talk from, "Survivor-Temptation Island."

"When you are young you might be tempted to steal a cookie or to disobey your parents, these sins are equally as bad as other sins. However, they probably won't destroy you. But as you get older the sins that you will be tempted to do can destroy you. The Bible says that Satan is like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. Satan wants to defeat God's children and will do whatever it takes to do so. God has given us his Word so that we can defend ourselves against Satan's fiery attacks. Today, we will play some fun games and do some special activities to learn what God has to say in his Word about defending ourselves from Satan's attacks."
