1) Missions Ideas/self denial?

Our Church is now having its mission appeal/self denial campaign that will
last until May.  I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas for a
missions project for my Sunday school class of 6 students, ages 8 - 10??
Thank you.

2) Ideas to incorporate into Baptism

I am in the same situation with my 3rd child due in April.  I'm planning
on having the baptism on mother's day.  My best friend is going to sing.
My mother is going to pray and My mother-in-law is going to read the
scripture.  I'm also looking for a poem or something for my 6 and 3 year
olds to read.

3) Miracles of Jesus Game

In regards to the Miracles of Jesus:  I taught the miracles for a week or
two last year as well as the lessons and healings.  Then I made feet
shapes out of construction paper and wrote either, "miracle", "healing" or
"teaching" on the front of each one.  On the back, I gave scripture
references.  I then laminated them and we played a version of "cake walk".
I would play the music, when it stopped they stopped on the closest
footprint.  I then drew one of the children's names out of a basket and
that child would give an example of either a healing Jesus performed, a
miracle or one of His teachings.  If they had trouble, they could look up
one of the scriptures while the rest of the children did another round.
You could keep score for a winner if you want, but we just did it for fun
and when it became more difficult, (the easy answers were already given),
everyone got to help the child whose name was chosen.

This year, we are focusing on Bible Stories.  I make questions for each
lesson (3 easy, 3 medium and 3 hard) and we have a "jeopardy"-style board
that we play every few weeks.  It reinforces the lessons they are
learning.  I plan for them to be able to play against some of the adults
in the church at  the end of the year.  They are excited about that.  Toye

4) Miracles of Jesus

>We try to have a theme and for
>March, I am looking at the theme MIRACLES OF JESUS.

Trevia--
You could turn water into Kool Aid with some powdered drink mix at snack
time.  You could bring a blindfold and play "blind man's buff" for an
activity.  (Also, have extra blindfolds on hand and ask the class to try
different tasks with them on.  Students can also note how an area
"sounds"--identify the sounds that are unique to their Sunday School
class.)  Just some quick ideas!  Good luck.

W.W.J.S.? Gospel Catchers

There's something much worse than cooties...it's called sin!  Now kids can
make Gospel Catchers rather than Cootie Catchers! A fun and innovative way
for kids to learn to share their faith with their friends!  Includes 4
Gospel Catcher patterns to make: the Colors of Christ (Gospel Colors), the

5) Easter songs with motions?

My children are participating in a Easter Program, and I would like for
them to sing a song.  Does anyone know of any Easter songs with motions
for children ages 3-6?
Thanks
Kim

6) Need Inexpensive Rewards/Awards

>We are looking for inexpensive rewards/awards  for our children.

I have used MacDonald's and Burger King Toys as rewards for younger
children.  Good to about 8 or 9 years old. Not an award you can "build on"
but inexpensive.  The kids like to see what else has been added to the box
and parents are thrilled to get the things out of the house so there is a
never ending supply.

7) Abraham and Isaac lessons

>I would like to know if you know any free website that can help me with
>the story of Abraham and Isaac.  I'm looking for some ideas...

Chrisel, in response to your request, check out the Workshop Rotation
Model website at www.rotation.org.  Look under "The Ideas and Lesson
Exchange" and then under "Lesson Exchange: Genesis Stories".  These ideas
are free to all.

8) Need Valentine ideas for mixed ages?

I am presenting a program for Valentines Day next Wed., Feb. 13th.   This
will be for the Youth Department, but includes small children to teens.
I'm not needing crafts but ideas for stories or object lessons.  Any help
would be MUCH APPRECIATED!!

--from SSTN: Dear Tammie: sorry your request didn't make it into SSTN on

9) Need Inexpensive Rewards/Awards

Our church runs a mid-week kid's bible class, called Bravehearts For
Jesus,
taking on the Scottish theme, we bought inexpensive plaid tartan material,
cut it into strips, and sewed the strips into sashes (think beauty
pageant). Then as the kids complete activities, we make little badges out
of fun foam and glue pins on the back.  They also get pins for 5 in a row
attendance and for memory verses, bringing a friend who joins, etc.  The
kids love it, and tell all their friends about it, our class has grown
from 7 to 10 kids.  It is pretty cheap, just takes some creativity (&
time) with making the badges.
Hope this helps!

11) Need Inexpensive Rewards/Awards

>We are looking for inexpensive rewards/awards  for our children.

To Trevia in NC:
Oriental Trading Company  is a fantastic
resource for inexpensive trinkets.  They have tons of WWJD?, F.R.O.G. and
other great religious merchandise, including a wide variety of bracelets.

12) Inexpensive awards

This is a response to the person looking for the inexpensive awards.  Try
the Oriental Trading Company.  They have a web page that you can order on
line or request to get a catalog.  They have very inexpensive reward/goody
bag items and a big section of religious items (pencils, paper, bracelets,
pins ect.)Lots and lots to choose from.   I've ordered many things from
them.  If you can order with someone else, you can split the shipping.  No
tax on it either.  Good luck.
