1) Christian bulletin board

>>Any ideas of any references to Christian bulletin board websites?

I am hoping others respond to this too, as I am also interested in
websites on Christian bulletin boards, but www.Daniellesplace.com has
some. God bless, Joni

2) Pastor is leaving gift?

Our pastor is leaving our church, and I need ideas for a gift my preschool
age children could make or give her when she will leave. She will be
leaving the beginning of March. Please help. Amber Wolfe - Twin Lakes Wi

3) Easy-to-understand Bible

Hi Sarah,
Your readers may also want to consider using the NCV (New Century Version)
for kids this age. We minister to a lot of children who have never
attended church before - the NCV is not a paraphrase, but a really good
translation that this age group can understand. We purchase them in bulk
(inexpensive leatherette at about $6 a copy) and give one to each child
that comes, even if the child is visiting from out of town with a friend.
We ask if they have their own Bible - if the answer is no, then they are
given one to take home. Get the Word in the homes and who knows who might
be reached with His love? Blessings, Iris

--from ChristianCrafters.Com: thanks, Iris for the suggestion. I've added
it to the Bookstore. By the way, everyone...if you have a book that you
think would be a great addition to the resources in the Bookstore, let me
know and I'll try to get it!
Blessings, Sarah Keith-Your moderator.

4) Writing Curriculum?

Due to the rising costs of curriculum, our church is considering writing
our own curriculum for VBS. Some ideas are "Noah's Ark" and "Christmas in
July". Has anyone ever done this? Any suggestions? Nancy Meisterm-mBethany
E. C. Church Sunbury, PA

--from ChristianCrafters.Com- there is a plethora of VBS ideas in the
Archives List.

5) "Fun teacher" dilemma?

I have to tell you that your newsletter is a blessing to many, including
myself. I teach Sunday school for the 4th and 5th grade level, AND I run
the youth group for the middle school and high school level. The problem
that I have, I seem to encounter at all levels that I am involved with.
I have developed a reputation as the "cool Mom" and the "fun teacher".
While this might make me feel good, it has put me in a difficult position.
I have trouble getting the kids to settle down for bible time. All they
want to do is the "fun stuff". I want it to be fun for them, but they are
so resistant to anything bible related. I refuse to give up on them, but I
need some advice on how best to handle this situation. Thanks so much,
Christine, Stoneham, MA

6) Showing God's love

To the person that has the vision for ''showing God's love"- I did a
'Kwanzaa hug' card this year- but could be adapted for Jesus' love. Use a
4"x11" sheet of green const.paper (a shirt color). Glue a flesh colored
circle 5-6") out of const. paper to the top middle of the green strip (as
listed above) - for the head. Then trace your students hands on flesh
colored construction paper. After attaching the 'head' on the top/middle
of the strip of green, fold the outer strips of green to meet together
(should be a 1/3 for each part). Attach the student's hands to the end of
each green strip. When it opens it looks like a HUG!!! Attach 2 hole-
reinforcer labels for the eyes, add some hair and a nose and mouth. When
the card is opened (with hands/arms outstretched) you can write whatever
you'd like inside! so cute! Carol From NY

7) Child's level Bible resources

>>I am searching for Bible resources written on a child's level -

Greetings Joyce, As to your request for materials for fifth/sixth grade
students. Precept's Ministry (Kay Arthur) has recently published Bible
Studies for children. One
is on how to study the Bible. We are just beginning to use the material
and
are hopeful this will be a good alternative to regular curriculum for
those
students who desire and are ready for some serious Bible study and
something that is indepth. I will be happy to provide more info if you
like..just email me at caughlin@open-door.org
Hope this helps...Bill Caughlin

8) Games, projects?

First of all I would like to say that I look forward to getting your
letter and have found many ideas here. I work with the youth where I
attend church, sometimes there are 20 youth, ages 5 - 21. We have played
several games, and are looking for new ideas. If anyone has any games,
projects, etc. that they would like to share with me, please email me at
hensley3@netcommander.com . I will be glad to share any games that we
have. Thanks.

--from ChristianCrafters.Com: There are tons of free games and other ideas
in the site. Please feel free to share your ideas with the network! ;o))
If you share outside the network, then the rest of us cannot benefit from

9) Bible resources

>>I am searching for Bible resources written on a child's level -

In addition to Nelson's Adventure Bible, which I also like and so does
the child in my class who has it, you may want to look at the Kirkbride
Thompson Chain Bible for kids. Its called the Treasure Study Bible. It
comes in NIV or KJV. Obviously, the NIV is easier to read but I thought
I'd let you know that there are 2 versions.
It's great that you are teaching them to really dig in to the Word of God.
I love it!! Toni
