1) Disabled Adults

> Does anyone know where she could get lesson material? Preschool
> material isn't working. Can anyone help. Thanks, Deb >>

It depends on their ability to grasp. We put ours in a class with
primary children. The Primaries loved them and they loved doing and
learning what the primaries were. They seemed to be accepted on all
levels and it worked very well. I agree preschool might be beneath them. They are aware they are not babies but don't quite grasp always they aren't able to be treated as adults either. It depends on their level of development. Edith

2) Written/stated philosophies?

As a worker with children's ministry, I am concerned that our church
does not have any written/stated policies regarding how we as a church
family acknowledge/celebrate specific holidays, i.e. Hallowe'en -
acceptable versus unacceptable costume themes for parties, Christmas -
do we talk at all about Santa Claus?, Easter - do we do Easter eggs and
mention "the Easter rabbit". If any churches have such policies, I
would very much appreciate knowing how to access them and I'd appreciate
knowing how to go about developing the same.

Toward the end is a pumpkin parable. It is perfect for what you are doing!

4)
Thanks

Thanks to all who replied to my "didn't go as planned" dilemma. You all had such wonderful ideas and inspirations. I just had our fifth class and everything is going more smoothly. Thanks again and god bless you!

5) Veggie Tales carvings

Kelly, Veggie Tale carvings are a cute idea! I was able to find pictures from
coloring books, available at Christian bookstores and Wal-Mart. I was also
able to download coloring pictures from http://www.bigidea.com. You can
also use the search mechanism of your browser, and find other Veggie Tale
sites that may have pictures. Once you've chosen the design, enlarge it on
a copier to the correct size for your pumpkin. Attach the paper to the
pumpkin with tape, and use it as a template by poking through the paper with
a push pin, pencil point, etc., along the outlines. Remove the paper, and
you have a pattern to follow for carving. Just be careful that you leave
enough pumpkin intact that the entire design fall out!

6) Bee Ideas

I have used the lesson "Bee Content". We glued A picture of a bee on 1
side of a popsicle stick and a picture of toys on the other. We talked
about how thankful we should be for all the things we have and to not always
be asking for more. Holding up our sticks we sang the song:
"Bee content
Bee content
Bee content with what you have
Repeat"

A bible story for this is the parable of the farmer who built bigger barns
to store up all his grain. We used this in Bible Hour for 2-5 year olds
