1) Jesus praying craft?
I would like a neat craft idea to go with a lesson about Jesus praying in the morning and at night. This is for ages 2yr - 5yr during worship service. I thought about something to do with praying hands or something to do with the sun (to represent morning) and the moon and stars (to represent night time). I am craft-challenged!! So simple and quick is good. (We really only have about 1/2 hour to do a lesson and a craft.) Thanks - I will be teaching this lesson the 3rd Sunday of October.

2) Christmas Play?
I am helping out with a Christmas program at our church. We our a small rural church with about 25 children ages 2 - 16. Most of the children are either preschool or under age 7. We would like to do some kind of simple play that the 5 or 6 older children can do and then have all of the little children do something together with them. We have acted out the nativity for the past several years and then had them all sing but the older children want something more. If anyone has any Christmas play idea's I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

3) Parables
I just completed a month of parables with our Sunday schoolers in the 5-8
age group. I found a great Sunday School resource site - it is:

4) Memorization Reward?
Does anyone have ideas for a Memorization Reward? This will be used during our King's Kids program. We are having a "Memorization Race" between classes. The class who has memorized their weekly verse by the end of December will be the winners. If there is a tie, the class that brought the most bibles during this time will win. We thought of a pizza party and something special for the winning class, but would like to try something different. Any "new" ideas out there?
I love getting my e-mail letters. Look for them all the time. I have gotten some wonderful ideas from so many people, just wanted to say "Thank You".

5) Fund Raising Idea
This year our youth group is selling poinsettias. A local nursery grows the poinsettias and is selling them to us at a low cost. They are also going to deliver the plants to our church, so this will make delivery much easier. In our church most members normally purchase 1 or 2 poinsettias to place in the church in memory of a loved one. I hope this idea helps. I will let the group know how this project turned out.

6) Youth Fund Raising
Pie in the face! Each youth placed a mason jar on a table in the gathering area of the church
entrance. You ask for people to cast their votes for who gets the pie in the
face by placing money in their perspective jar. The pie was a whipped cream pie. Also, the youth director got a pie in the face at the end! The snapshots taken before, during and after were GREAT!
Another idea is to have a youth auction. Have congregational members bid on which youth they would like to do a particular chore for them. The youth can write up a short bio on what they
are good at, i.e., babysitting, raking leaves, washing cars, etc. Have fun and good luck.

7) Teaching multiple ages
I have taught a Jr. Church group from ages 2-14 for the last 8 years. It is very challenging to do. I cannot split the group because I am from a small church and I am the only one who will take on the responsiblity full time. Anyway, I have the older children shepherd the younger children. I also have the kids send "we miss you cards" to those who are not there each Sunday. As far as lessons go, sometimes we play games sometimes we, watch a video, sometimes we just do a craft and talk. The important thing to remember is why you are doing this...because God has called you. Love the kids to death, be interested in what is going on in their life, and don't be afraid to be really silly and to really flop sometimes. Try new things. God will bless your ministry. And remember to seek out great web sights like this one for different ideas.

8) Fundraising Pie Auction
I attended a talent evening at a Friend's Church. Mid way through the
evening ONE PIE was auctioned off. The auctioneer set a time limit of 15
minutes and bids were restricted to one dollar each. This means that the
auctioneer kept getting the price raised but it only cost youth one dollar
increase each time. If you bid 4 dollars and I was the next to bid at 5. I
simply added my one dollar to the four already in the pot. This gives
everyone in attendance a chance to play. The last person to put the last
bid in at the end of the pre-determined time gets the pie for that one
dollar bid. They made $90.00 on one beautiful apple pie. It was lots of

9) Moses Craft idea
I have a picture of a bush that I copy onto green construction paper. It
has outlines of chubby flames in it. I also copy the flame patterns onto
red construction paper. On each flame is an excuse Moses used when God told
him to go to see Pharaoh. You could put something else on the flames like
words from the memory verse. These flames are cut out. Let the children
glue them onto the bush. Easy and fast when you don't have much time.
