1) Happy Anniversary SSTN!

January 10th marks our ninth year! For those who don't know, SSTN was launched January 10, 2000. We began with 65 teachers subscribed and are now over 25,000 Christian educators strong! WOW!

What a personal blessing and time of growth this has been for me. I hope the same can be said for all of you! I look forward to hearing from longtime subscribers this year, as well as those who've never written in. God's blessings to you this coming new year as you serve in children's ministry!

Your webservant,
Sarah Keith <><

P.S. Remember, without your continued ideas, input, suggestions and support, this network could not continue. YOU are vital to its success!

Easter Skit?

Hello, There is a skit on called Bethlehem Drive. Essentially, it is stations depicting the Christmas story. I am trying to find information on doing something similar for Easter / Holy Week. Any suggestions?

Lawrenceville UMC

--from SSTN: Hi Guy, There are plenty of Easter Skits in the site and there's an activity in the Sermons and Lessons section named, "Journey to the Cross", but not one like the Bethlehem Drive idea. However, you could certainly use the concept of Bethlehem Drive and make it into stations of the cross.

For example, you could have stations which depict the following Bible scenes:
Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane,
Jesus is betrayed by Judas and arrested,
Jesus is condemned by the Sanhedrin,
Jesus is denied by Peter,
Jesus is judged by Pilate,
Jesus is scourged and crowned with thorns,
Jesus takes up his cross,
Jesus is helped by Simon to carry his cross,
Jesus is crucified,
Jesus promises his kingdom to the good thief,
Jesus dies on the cross,
Jesus is laid in the tomb.
Jesus rises from the dead.

3) Mercy Mission Gift Baskets

The Mercy Mission Gift Baskets from lesson one of the Spirit Gifts book club, could also be made using white, wire handled boxes (also known as Chinese Take Out boxes). Children could color the outside of the boxes using markers and stickers, then fill them for the mercy mission lesson.

4) Spiritual Gifts

Do you have anything on teaching children the Spiritual gifts.

5) Improving Children's Games?

hi, I just want to know how to improve children's games?

You'll find the link to print them on our Book Club page at:

More ideas will be shared via the network as the semester continues!

P.S. I'm still looking for more teachers to join me in teaching the Gifts of the Spirit this coming semester!
